St Martins Parish Profile
The parish of St Martins is located in the south-east of the Island with a population of about 7,000 people and an area of about 2.8 sq miles (7.3 sq km).
The coastline and cliffs are popular for walking and boast spectacular views towards Herm, Sark, Alderney and France.
The beaches of Saints Bay and Moulin Huet are sheltered for swimming and very picturesque.
St Martins has a small village (neighbourhood shopping & medical facilities), Sausmarez Manor with its gardens, sculpture exhibition, miniature train and Farmers Market on Saturday mornings.
There are regular farmers markets held selling a wide range of local produce including meat, fish, fruit and vegetables.
St Martins is also the home of Guernsey’s hospital, the Princess Elizabeth. This is a very well equipped facility which puts many large UK teaching hospitals to shame with its modern and ever expanding facilities, wards, and associated Medical Specialist Group facilities near by. The island has over 100 doctors and medically qualified professionals along with approximately two dozen qualified and experienced dentists.
Primary School Catchment for this area is St Martins Primary.
