St Saviours Parish Profile
The parish of St Saviours is located on the west coast of Guernsey and is one of the largest parishes. The two beaches on the coastline are Perelle and Richmond, the latter having a large colony of breeding seabirds. The parish has a population of about 3000 people and an area of about 2.5 sq miles (6.4 sq km.).
Perelle is primarily a fishermen’s bay and popular for fishing, shrimping and in season, catching the ormer, which is a much prized local delicacy.
The reservoir is a lovely spot for walking, the pathways meandering through a pine forest with views of the reservoir.
The parish church of St Saviours is an impressive building dating from the 14th Century, as does the quaint St Apolline Chapel near Perelle, which houses some beautiful frescoes of The Last Supper.
Primary School catchment for this parish is La Houguette Primary.
